Generate custom solutions to meet your business needs

Increasingly, nonprofit organizations are realizing the power of the Internet and leveraging the diverse and growing mix of online tools that support integration through Open APIs. APIs, or Application Programming Interfaces, provide the technical hooks that link applications together for the purpose of sharing data or creating "mashup" applications.

As part of the Open Initiative, Convio is developing a series of APIs that permit clients and partner developers the option to extend their online marketing campaigns beyond the reach of the Convio powered applications.

The first of the APIs to be made available is Convio's Constituent API. With more than nine methods available, this REST API enables third-party applications to create new constituent records, update existing records, retrieve individual constituent profiles or return a group of selected records for utilization.

Our approach

Convio APIs are designed to decrease the amount of effort required for organizations to generate custom solutions to meet their specific business needs, while increasing the organization's online marketing opportunities.

For example, an organization might want to use Flash animation as a part of a list recruitment campaign. Rather than having members of the target audience watch the video and then click through to a Convio-powered registration page, the organization can create a Flash-based custom form that utilizes the Convio API to capture new subscribers. By streamlining the registration process and decreasing the number of clicks, the constituent experience is improved and the conversion rate increases.
